GDT Agency issues scam awareness notice to advertisers and business owners following the increasing use of impersonation, unofficial communication channels, and fraudulent offers targeting digital advertising clients.

As advertisers increasingly work with external partners for advertising accounts, payments, account support, and campaign infrastructure, scammers may attempt to impersonate legitimate agencies or representatives. These attempts can involve fake profiles, unofficial messaging accounts, misleading offers, or requests for payments through channels that are not operated or authorized by GDT Agency.

GDT Agency reminds all advertisers to verify the source of any communication before sharing information, making payments, or granting account access.

Why GDT Agency Is Issuing This Notice

GDT Agency decided to publish this notice after receiving multiple reports from clients about individuals impersonating GDT Agency representatives through Telegram and other platforms recently.
The impersonators used fake usernames and copied GDT Agency branding to make their Telegram profiles and messages appear legitimate. They then attempted to persuade users to send payments through unofficial channels. The image below shows an example of a reported impersonation attempt, comparing a legitimate GDT Agency account with an account using copied branding.

GDT Agency has also received reports involving other suspicious accounts, including the Telegram account @spgdtagencybot.

These reports showed how easily an impersonator can create a profile that looks familiar enough to gain a user’s trust. When these scammers receive the money, they immediately delete the whole conversation and block users.

A social media profile can use the GDT Agency name, logo, images, and other branding without being an official GDT Agency account. Advertisers should therefore avoid treating a profile’s name, logo, follower count, or claimed affiliation as proof that the account represents GDT Agency.

We encourage all existing and potential customers to remain on the lookout. A familiar logo or username is not proof of authenticity. The use of company branding does not prove that a person or account has an official relationship with GDT Agency.

This is why GDT Agency recommends that advertisers verify any unexpected contact through the official information published on our website.

Advertisers Should Verify GDT Agency Through Official Channels

Advertisers should check the email address, phone number, social media account, or other contact details against the information provided through the official GDT Agency website before making payments or sharing account information.

Currently, GDT Agency only has two official contact information and communication channels published on the official GDT Agency website:

The official website serves as the primary reference point for verifying GDT Agency services, contact details, and available communication channels. Advertisers should not rely solely on information provided through unsolicited messages, social media profiles, private groups, or third-party websites.

If someone claims to represent GDT Agency, advertisers should compare the provided contact information with the contact details published on the official website before continuing the conversation.

If a person claims to represent GDT Agency but cannot be verified through an official channel, advertisers should pause the conversation and contact GDT Agency through the official website for verification.

Advertisers should also be cautious when a person:

  • Requests payment through an unfamiliar account or payment method.
  • Offers unusually large discounts or conditions that do not match the official service information.
  • Pressures the advertiser to make an immediate payment.
  • Requests passwords, authentication codes, or other sensitive account information.
  • Provides a contact number, email address, or social profile that does not appear on the official website.
  • Claims to be a GDT Agency representative but refuses to communicate through an official channel.
  • Sends links that do not correspond to the official GDT Agency domain.

Protect Payments and Advertising Accounts

Advertisers should treat payment requests, top-up instructions, and account-access requests with particular caution to avoid financial loss and unauthorized access.
GDT Agency advises all clients to verify the recipient and communication channel before making any payment or transferring funds. Advertisers should only use the official payment methods and accounts explicitly published in GDT Agency’s payment policies on its official website.

GDT Agency also encourages advertisers to verify completed top-ups through the normal client communication process. After a top-up has been processed, the assigned sales representative informs the client that the funds have been added. The client can then check the advertising account balance and confirm that the top-up has been completed.

Advertisers should never make payments or top up funds to personal bank accounts, digital wallets, cryptocurrency wallets, or other payment accounts that have not been officially published or authorized by GDT Agency. Even if a payment request comes from someone claiming to be a GDT Agency representative, clients should not proceed until they have verified the payment details through an official channel.

Besides, any group created with a GDT Agency client must include GDT Agency’s official main account. This account confirms that the group is an authorized GDT Agency communication channel. Clients should verify the official account before making any payment or top-up.

Advertisers should also avoid following unexpected changes to payment instructions, including requests to transfer funds to a different account, use an unfamiliar payment method, or send additional funds outside the agreed payment process. Any unusual payment request should be verified directly with GDT Agency through the official contact information published on its website.

Client feedback and transaction records can provide additional evidence of legitimate interactions with GDT Agency. However, advertisers should still verify the contact person, communication channel, and payment details against the official information published on the GDT Agency website.

Before making any payment or top-up, advertisers should review GDT Agency’s official payment policy and verify that the payment details match the information published there.
Taking a few minutes to verify payment details and contact information can help advertisers reduce the risk of financial fraud, protect their advertising budgets, and prevent unauthorized access to their advertising assets.

If advertisers have doubts about a payment request, top-up instruction, service offer, or account-related message, they should pause the transaction and contact GDT Agency through an official channel before proceeding.

What Advertisers Should Do If They Suspect Impersonation

Advertisers who receive a suspicious message should avoid sending money or sensitive information until they verify the sender.

The recommended process is simple:

  1. Stop the transaction or communication if something appears suspicious.
  2. Check the official GDT Agency website for the correct contact information.
  3. Compare the sender’s email address, phone number, social profile, or other contact details with the information published by GDT Agency.
  4. Contact GDT Agency through an official channel if verification is still unclear.
  5. Preserve relevant messages, payment requests, usernames, and transaction information if an impersonation attempt is suspected.

Advertisers should not use contact information supplied exclusively by the person whose identity they are trying to verify.

GDT Agency’s Reminder to Advertisers

GDT Agency encourages advertisers to make verification a normal part of working with any advertising service provider.
Scammers can imitate company names and branding, but advertisers can reduce their risk by relying on information published through official channels rather than trusting unsolicited communication.

For GDT Agency services, advertisers should always start with the official website and use the contact information provided there.

GDT Agency will continue to remind advertisers about basic security practices and encourage clients and prospective clients to verify communication before making payments, sharing account information, or proceeding with a service request.

When in doubt, verify through the official GDT Agency website first.
